Bio

I am extremely excited to start the school year. I would like to share some background information about myself. I have lived in Bedford County all my life and currently live in Unionville.  I have four children, their ages are 25, 23, 22, and 19.

Before becoming a teacher, I worked with kids either through church, local schools, or youth church trips. For 19 years, I worked at CalsonicKansei North America in Shelbyville but have always wanted to pursue a career in education.  After several years of hard work and determination, my desire became a reality. After completing all requirements of Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, I earned my Master’s degree in December of 2011. On July 6, 2012, I said goodbye to my coworkers at CalsonicKansei in preparation for a career in the education field.

I love teaching at Community Elementary, I especially love teaching Kindergarten. Learning to read is a fundamental step in the education process, I look forward to teaching children to read each year. As a teacher, I welcome parents to volunteer their time to help in the classroom. As a parent, I know volunteering in the classroom may not be possible. If you would like to assist in any way, please let me know. I look forward to meeting you.
