Beliefs

 

It is the belief of the faculty, school support personnel, administration, students, parents, and the community of Community Elementary School that:

 

·         Providing high quality educational opportunities for all Community Elementary students is fundamental.

 

·         Rigorous academic standards and high expectations are a shared responsibility for all educators and stakeholders.

 

·         Collaboration among parents, staff, and community with the purpose of making the appropriate educational decisions is crucial to students and success.

 

·         Students’ individual needs will be met through differentiated instruction and targeted interventions to ensure academic growth and achievement.

 

·         Learning will be assessed using a variety of assessment methods.

 

·         Students are educated and assessed with the “whole” child in mind, as a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.

 

·         Viking Values: “Be respectful, be responsible, be ready” increase student academic performance, decrease problem behavior, increase safety, and establish positive school climates through research-based strategies and systems.

 

·         Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process and involved in decision making.

 

·         Students will be able to apply learned concepts in the variety of technological venues of their society.

 

Common Mission

The mission of Community Elementary School is to prepare our students to be productive members of society, providing a foundation for each student in academic, technological, and social learning in a safe, nurturing, and positive environment, and living the values “Be respectful, be responsible, and be ready”.

Our vision is to educate, enable, and empower every student so that they may become independent and productive members of society.
